Colorado Jane and I just returned from our vacation in Costa Rica, where BBQ was off-limits according to the rules of engagement she established prior to departure. Nevertheless we were forced into a BBQ situation on our last evening there when the resort had a BBQ on the beach. On the grill could be found tenderloin medalions, pork tenderloin and mahi mahi. They were fantastic especially given the beautiful setting on the Costa Rican beach and my exquisite-looking dinner partner.

We went to Arenal Volcano in the rainforest for 4 days, and to Tamarindo on the Pacific coast for 4 days. Amazing trip filled with monkeys, parrots and porcupines. BBQ was off limits because Colorado Jane wanted a vacation from BBQ. What choice did I have but to oblige? Costa Rica is a beautiful country and if you get a chance to go do not pass it up.
